Dakota Girl

Dakota's 7th Grade class was asked to take on a challenge this year.  They were asked to read around the world.  Each page became so many miles and the challenge was set.  Dakota read around the world by Christmas time.  I thought we could be done logging the hours but the teacher said to keep going.  So she ended up going around the world 2 times.  That was over 15000 pages read. ( The funny thing is she did not log all of her pages.)  She was invited to dinner with the principal and her English teacher along with the 13 other kids that accomplished this goal.  Then they had a special awards night wear they honored student of the year and Principal choice.  It was best dressed and they gave Dakota a corsage.

 

She is such a thoughtful girl that she is helping a friend with her corsage( I am pretty sure this is the first time most of these kids wore one) 

They call her name to the front of the stage.

She is asked to tell how many pages that she has read.

Dakota Dickson you are so smart and talented.  I am so proud of your accomplishments.  Keep up the good work!

Hunter's Field Trip

I was so excited when I got Invited to the 5th Grade field trip.(Notice Hunter's Tongue)

We had the opportunity to go to the court house.

We were able to go inside a real court room and listen to a trial about drugs and guns and people not knowing were they live.

KIDS SEND THINGS TO THE COURT HOUSE AND THEY DISPLAY IT!

We had a really good day and I think Hunter learned a lot.

FHE Bowling!

We got free bowling tickets from Texas station when PTA did our bowling fundraiser.  But they expire at the end of this month.  So we hit the lanes for FHE!

Dad started out with an amazing arm and bowled a 116

Dakota AKA 8watermellons 73 her first game.

Hunter AKA Cold fire bowled a 75 his first game

Liberty AKA 88wolves bowled 78 her first game

Jericho AKA Chicken beater bowled a 71 his first game

Even though he kicked the ball some of the time.

On Cold fires second game he  came in second to only dad with 81

88 wolves droped a little in her second game to 71

Chicken beater gets a little board and does not play all of his second game but still makes  76

Dad is very helpful the whole time and his second game drops to an 85

8 watermelons shows off those skills with a 66 for her second game.  You can see how hard she is working on her score!

Mom had a 94 her first game but gave plasma that day

So her bowling arm was really tired and she only pulled a 74 her second game

Every one was starved so we got some snacks (fries)

And a icee

Getting down to the end and 2 games is a long time!

But I think that we all had a nice time and was glad for the free tickets!
